NOW OPEN!!  The NEW Public Fishing Pier located at Boat Ramp #21 Potter's Creek Park West is now open to the public 24 hours. Parking is available next to the restrooms on the east end of the boat ramp parking lot.

Please Note: Due to declining water elevations, the following boat ramps remain open:  #1 Canyon Lake Village, #6 Canyon Lake Hills 1 East, #12 Canyon Lake Yacht Club, #14 Jacobs Creek Park 1, #15 Jacobs Creek Park 2, #17 Little Jacobs Creek, #18 Canyon Park Campground, #19 Canyon Park Marina, #20 Potter's Creek Park East Camp Area and  #21 Potter's Creek Park West (outside). The fishing pier at Cranes Mill Park is currently closed for repairs. For further updates, please call the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Canyon Lake office at 830-964-3342.  Please boat safely and always remember to wear your life jacket!

Largemouth Bass:  Good to 4 lbs. early on white River2Sea Vib 65 or bluegill 3/8 oz. River2Sea spinnerbaits and later on drop shot rigged red bug Tru-Tungsten dart worms or shaky head rigged watermelon/green pumpkin 4" Berkley sinkworms on main lake and secondary points in 5-20 feet. Also good on green pumpkin red Zoom super flukes or whacky rigged blue pearl hologram Zoom Z-nails upriver in 6-20 feet.

Smallmouth Bass:  Good to 3 lbs. on green pumpkin 4" Berkley crazy legs chigger craws, watermelon red River2Sea Stand'n Yabbie 50 crawfish or brown orange 3/8 oz. River2Sea junk grenade jigs over rock piles and along bluffs in 8-12 feet.

White Bass:  Good vertically jigging black shad or smelt 3" Berkley Gulp! minnows on a 1/8 oz. jig head and trolling Texas shad Luhr-Jenson Baby Hot Lips Express on main lake points.

Crappie:  Fair on black shad 2.5" Berkley Gulp! minnows around brush piles and submerged trees off main lake points and upriver in 4-10 feet.

Striped Bass:  Fair trolling chartreuse/green 3/4 oz. Luhr-Jensen Hot Lips Troller or ghost bass Strike Pro flex phantoms, vertically jigging chartreuse/silver 1-1/2 oz. Terminator pirk minnows or perch Bagley jigging minnows on main lake points and drifting hybrid bluegill around the dam in 15-20 feet.

Perch:  Fair on live crickets or red worms.

Channel Catfish:  Good on Lewis Selects catfish bait and shad gizzards in 6-20 feet.

Blue and Yellow Catfish:  Excellent on trotlines and juglines baited with hybrid bluegills in 10-30 feet.

Largemouth Bass:  Good to 10 lbs. early on shad River2Sea S-wavers, royal red XCalibur 1Knockers and later on whacky rigged green pumpkin party 7" Berkley sinkworms, Texas rigged red bug V&M Bayou Giants or Carolina rigged watermelon magic Zoom magnum super flukes on main lake points and cranking red ear or brown Texas shad 3/4 oz. Luhr-Jensen Hot Lips Express or casting bar fish 5" Lake Fork Tackle flutter spoons over deep structures and on main lake points in 12-25 feet.

White Bass:  Good on live minnows on main lake points or vertically jigging rainbow 4" Berkley Gulp! minnows on a 1/8 oz. jig head on main lake point and in back of coves.

Crappie:  Good on live minnows over brush piles and standing timber upriver in 4-12 feet. 

Channel and Blue Catfish:  Good on Lewis Selects catfish bait and shad gizzards in 6-20 feet.

Yellow Catfish:  Excellent on trotlines baited with hybrid bluegills upriver in 6-15 feet.

LAKE AMISTAD

Water Clarity: Clear Water Temp: 82 degrees Current Level: 1117.55 ft./340.630 meters (Conservation Pool: 1117.00 ft. msl)

Largemouth Bass:  Good on watermelon 6" Reaction Strike Fathead Jrs, baby bass 9" River2Sea Kong and whacky rigged black/red 7" Berkley fat sinkworms or brown/purple 1 oz. River2Sea touchdown jigs with watermelon Berkley crazy legs chigger craw trailers and Carolina rigged watermelon magic Zoom magnum super flukes or bad shad Reaction Innovations skinny dippers on off shore structures or main lake points in  15-25 feet. Also good vertically jigging perch 1 oz. Bagley jigging minnows or glow smelt 1 oz. Luhr-Jensen Quiver spoons on main lake points.

White Bass:  Good vertically jigging black shad 4" Berkley Gulp! minnows on main lake points or in back of coves.

Striped Bass:  Good trolling red craw 3/4 oz. Luhr-Jensen Hot Lips Troller off main lake points, drifting hybrid bluegills in 10-30 feet and ripping chartreuse shad River2Sea rovers into schooling action.

Catfish:  Excellent on Lewis Selects catfish bait and hybrid bluegills in 6-30 feet.
